Optics Centre opens in Gaza City today
Nihad Taha brought this idea forwards about 3 months ago (see message 13 May). The equipment is Chinese designed and manufactured. Eye tests and spectacles are now made possible for the poorer children and adults. And all this is achieved in face of the siege that has been in place since March 2006.6000 have waited at Rafah for six weeks. Some are sick and some have died. This in 2007 AD. Is the new envoy attending to this grotesque inhumanity?
In spite of all - the economic strangulation and recurrent invasion, these resilient people keep their eyes steadily focused on the future.
